What type of service do you provide?
Voices of Equality Forum Community is a non-profit community organisation. We work primarily to raise global awareness of Equality Matters! The organisation works in partnership with other organisations from the public, private and ‘third’ sectors, from time to time, to achieve our objectives.
I would like to attend a forum session, event etc. How do I do this?
We run forum sessions and community events with a dedicated team of volunteers. Members of the community are invited to attend to discuss Equality and Diversity issues and engage with community activities.
To join our next forum session or find an event here. We have limited space for sessions, so require that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Appointments are booked on a first-come first-serve basis.
How do I volunteer or donate?
To volunteer click here. Donations may be made in several ways; either by cheque, telephone, at our office or online, including through our fundraising page on Crowdfunder or dedicated donation page on ‘You Caring’.
What are your terms?
Our Terms can be found here. If you choose to visit our website, your visit and any dispute arising is subject to these Terms and Policies and any other applicable guidance and standards.
How will I be notified about amendments?
We may need to update our Terms or Policies, from time to time. We do this in a variety of ways, i.e., on the website, by email or post. A periodic email may also be sent as a reminder of our Terms and Policies, unless you have instructed us not to.
You should check our website frequently to see any recent changes and amendments, as these amendments (unless otherwise stated) apply to Terms, Policies and the information that we hold or process about you, and may include your use of the website and/or your account.
What types of communication do you use?
Our preferred method of communication is email. You can choose to receive emails or other communications from us by telling us your preferred method of communication: online, through individual group meetings, telephone or via our contacts page.
What do you do with my information?
The information you give to us and what we collect may be processed and stored on our systems. This includes information that relates to and identifies you personally (“personal data”), what you enter on our website, the details that you provide to us, or any other information about you given to us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but if you do so you may not be able to take full advantage of many of the features contained through our website.
We use your data to carry out our daily functions, this includes processing your information to fulfil a service we provide to you, for example, posting a campaign t-shirt you bought on the website.
Depending on your preferences we may, from time to time, send you information about our affiliated partners. Emails we send may also include relevant news, special offers, advance notice of new products and promotions, service updates or notification of upcoming events, etc. You may opt-out at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email message.
Do I have to register?
You do not have to register to browse the website. However, if you require our services or use social media, visitors and service users may be offered free access to create an account. Access to the dedicated ‘My Account’ portal is by subscription only. You may also join our social media platforms free of charge.
We recommend all users sign up to gain full access to the range of services to benefit from various resources, receive direct updates and connect with networks available only to members.
Is registration/subscription free?
This depends. General subscription will always be free.
The benefits of subscribing to Voices of Equality Forum Community allows service users to contribute to members only parts of the website, like adding comments, newsletters or accessing valuable resources. To become a community member, membership incurs a minimal cost of £1.00, you can subscribe here.
We reserve the right, and may, from time to time provide a ‘premium service’ to access certain information or products, such as premium publications etc. you will always be informed of costs involved prior to purchasing this type of service.
Should I subscribe to your services, newsletter/mailing list?
We want to help you find exactly what you require as quickly and smoothly as possible. Therefore, the more we know about your preferences the easier it is for us to keep you updated with relevant information. For this reason, we encourage you to subscribe with us.
Once you have subscribed, we are in a better position to recommend specific goods, services and information of potential interest to you. As a result and with your consent, your personal data may be combined with other information on our systems in order to:
- save you from having to keep giving us the same information for different services offered;
- help you to get more out of your visits to our website by suggesting information about products and services which may be useful to you; and
- keep our team and trusted partners up to date with your details.
Can I change my mind once I subscribe?
Yes, of course. There are several ways in which you can opt-in or opt-out, and you are able to do so at any time. If you have an account with us, there should be options available in your settings, this may include other external social platforms. How do I find out what personal data you hold?
Use of your personal data may be processed for several purposes such as updating our records, providing and improving our products and Services, marketing or in general communication with you. Contact us if you wish to know more about your data.
To stop receiving advertising and marketing information directly from us, you can do this by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email communications, in your browser or account settings or by writing to us.
Is data transferred outside the EU?
Our affiliate partners may support services we provide to you. Some partners my operate, or are located in, countries outside the EU, for example, in the USA or Canada. Data protection laws outside the EU may not provide an equivalent level of protection for users in the UK, but Voices of Equality Forum Community will abide by our practices and Policies, as well as any applicable laws, if data is transferred. What information can I access?
Use of personal data is governed by applicable Data Protection laws in the UK. If you are an EU citizen the new General Data Protection Regulations shall apply. We believe that you should have the ability to know and update your account information, so we continually review how we process and use personal data, in accordance with English law. How do I contact you?
Questions, comments, and requests are welcomed and encourage the use of our contact us page to do so. Your form will be sent to our systems, where we endeavour to respond within a reasonable time and will notify you if we anticipate a longer response.
How do I obtain information you hold on me?

All requests must be confirmed to us in writing. We will also need to verify that the information being sought is lawful and in accordance with our Policies. Is there a cost for obtaining my personal information?
Like other organisations, all request for information are approached on a case by case basis as set by law. As a result we are permitted to charge you a reasonable amount to complete any requests you make with regards to obtaining your personal data. We will inform you of any costs in advance and full payment must be paid prior to us processing your request.
Is my child using your site?
We do not seek or knowingly collect any personal information about children under 13 years of age. However, if you become aware that a child is engaged in any of our forums or that we may hold information about a child, please notify us immediately.
During our research and campaigns we may collect opinions or comments as part of a youth-led initiative project. Any information gathered will be of a general nature, thus, should not usually contain direct personal data. Under these circumstances, we will always seek to obtain parental consent before collecting any personal data or take appropriate steps where relevant consent has not been given.
